- Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging?
Hi *waves* I'm Diamond, or Dee, as my friends like to call me. Yes, Diamond is my real name (I've got the birth certificate and drivers license to prove it). ;) I started my blog in late November of 2012. However, I think that's misleading because I didn't really start "blogging" until January 2013. I basically started because I needed an outlet for my obsession/love/addiction to books. 3 of my best friends (also book lovers) had moved within a few months of each other and I found myself lonely and without anyone to discuss books with. I was miserable! I didn't know how to blog (like, at all) so I googled everything and it's been a trial-and-error type of thang. I love it! It's a lot of work, and a full time hobby...but it's so worth it! ^_^
- Where in the world are you blogging from? Tell a random fact or something special about your current location. Feel free to share pictures.
I am blogging from Southern California! Specifically, I live in Los Angeles County. Hmmm random fact? I live two minutes from Chatsworth, CA-- the porn capital of the United States. :brow I really don't want to share pictures related to that (lol) but here's a picture I Instagram'd awhile ago...around my neighborhood.
- What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book you have read so far in 2013?
I'm currently reading The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan and really loving it. I've been making it a goal of mine for this year to catchup with a lot of YA series I hadn't finished; and to start several series as well. So far it's going well! My favorite book I've read this year is Daughter of Exile by Isabel Glass. Excellent fantasy novel that I randomly came across in the library. You can see my review HERE
- Tell us one non-book-related thing that everyone reading your blog may not know about you.
- What is your favorite part about the book blogging community?
-Are YOU doing Armchair BEA this week? Leave a comment below, I'd love to meet you & check out your intro post! I can't wait to meet and follow all you amazing book bloggers! ^_^
BTW--Ill be on twitter this week @DeesReads / @DiamondCronen and I will be doing the Instagram picture thing at some point. I am looking forward to my first ever Armchair BEA!

Hi, Dee! I think Diamond is an awesome name. I love California! I used to live there when I was younger, before moving all over the USA, and finally ending up here in Utah. I also love cats. My grey and white tabby, Misty, is my favorite reading buddy. Anyway, thanks for stopping by my intro post! I'm excited to make new friends during this week! I'm a new follower of yours!
ReplyDelete- Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl
Thanks Jana! I probably should've mentioned I already follow your blog :) nice to meet ya!
DeleteHi! All your friends left you? *hugs* Well, three. But three book loving ones. That's the equivalent of all of them. Damn, I miss my cat now (we lost him to old age). Anyway, nice to meet you. Enjoy ArmchairBEA!
ReplyDeleteHi Nina. thanks for the hug. ^_^ I'm sorry you lost your cat. It's nice to meet you too! I'm heading over to your blog now to snoop around!

Thanks Holly! Just visited your blog and followed. We have common book taste!
DeleteDiamond is indeed a beautiful name. But Sasha is the real deal! Gorgeous. But I'm biased. Have two wonderful felines of my own. Wouldn't be without them. They make reading so much better...
ReplyDeleteI love cats :) they make reading better...they make LIFE better! Mine is curled up on my ottoman now sleeping. She's so cute, haha. :kitten. I just stopped by your blog, looks like we have a ton in common!
DeleteI have to prove my name too--Stormy IS my real name. I don't really think it's all THAT uncommon, but people always seem to think it's a nickname.
ReplyDeleteI love the blogging community for the same reason--finally, my book obsession is affirmed!
Stormy is a really kick ass name! I've never heard it before. Go us! Unique names and were both book bloggers!? Sweetness!
DeleteThis is my first ABEA as well. I think it's going to be a great time. Your cat is adorbs! I love cats as well...doesn't it seem that a lot of us bookish folks also adore cats? I wonder what that's about? :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful ABEA!!
So true! Maybe it's bc we like to sit for hours and read...and they like to sit for hours and sleep. Lol. :kitten
DeleteHi Dee, Aw, Sasha is so cute :-) My baby girl Socky waves back at Sasha! She's not really a baby as she is 77 in cat years but will always be a baby to me :-) It was lovely to get to know a bit more about you :-)
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks Trish! :h *sasha waves and meows back to Socky*
DeleteI love your name. It's so unique. Is that the Percy Jackson series? I need to read that series. Everyone says it's great. Also, I really want to visit or possibly move to California some day. I'm in desperate need of some sunshine! Do you have lots of earthquakes though? I've only ever experienced one and it was scary.
ReplyDeleteNope, not many earthquakes. I don't feel most of em, bc they're so small. And yeah-- it's the Percy Jackson series. Highly recommend it! :) Cali is beautiful. You should def visits,
DeleteI like how many smilely faces you included. They are all wonderful! Diamond is such an awesome name! That's so cool that you were given such a unique name! I love all of Riordan's Olympus books! Glad your enjoying the fifth!
